Advertiser VS Forumer - Who gives better opinions?
The basic concept of an online forum is a website for people from different countries with different backgrounds to meet and join together for discussing of various topics. It can also be a place to share experienced ideas and submit possible solutions to others with specific problems that you may have answers to.

Advertiser is to communicate with the consumers about the relevant feature and design. It informs the consumer about what the product or service does and how it can help the consumer.

If one day you thought of buying a new arrival computer part, for example a Graphic Card, where do you actually go to get more information about it?
Firstly, you would search for the brand and model of the it that you have in mind in Google and check out the specifications and price on the product's website itself.
Secondly, you would compare this particular brand with other brand based on the specifications and with the same price range. Usually, when people wants to buy, it is always based on their budget that they have and their needs. For Gamers, they usually will buy a high end Graphic Card.

Above is the new arrival Leadtek WinFast GTX 560 Ti 1GB GDDR5 Graphic Card in the market now. You can take a look of the specs here:
So, have you made up your mind after looking at the specs from the advertiser website? Are you convinced that this is the card for you, does it worth every dollar you paid or you can get a better one at a cheaper price? Perhaps, i think you are still in doubt.
Many people can't make up their mind when they want to purchase something they are not familiar with and so they seek forums for help and hopefully they can get their questions answered.

Most of the time, forumer will make comparison with a few selected Graphic Card and figure.1 is an example to show the comparison between the 6 Graphic Cards using the 3DMARK Vantage program which is a PC benchmark suite designed to test the DirectX10 performance of your graphics card.

A forum is a good source of information as you can get to know more based on their personal experience that they shared. You gain more knowledge by reading what they post and have a better understanding. It also widen out your choices that you have before you make any purchase.
All in all, you have to judge the opinions by yourself based on the reviews and not get misled by untrustworthy forumer. You must also know that in a forum, lots of momentum and conversation happening, but things tend to vanish into the archives and get lost. Topics can also get off-track quickly.
I personally still visit forum when i want to purchase something which i am unsure of. Advertiser does not give the insight of the product and so i would still conduct research myself.
I would say 80% advertiser, 20% forumer. Usually advertisers would sell their products straightforward so there is no confusion there. Talking face to face to a advertiser is better still if you have any doubts. Forumers opinion's may not be serious and may lead off to another topic.
I think advertiser is doing the difficult part of the job.Because it has to pursuade the customer to buy the product. The customer will seek more information about the product if he is interested on the product only. So the interest of the customer can be motivated through the advertisement. If the customer needs a lot details then the forum can be usefull.
Anyway we cannot say that every thing mentioned in the forum is 100% true. Advertisement and the forum both have its own commercial purposes.
Its a bit of a mix. Usually I rely on both in order to make my purchasing position. In my experience, usually advertisers are hyping up their product obviously they would like you to purchase their product. So always take advertised news with a pinch of salt.
On the other hand I believe that forumers tend to complain or exaggerate too much.As most of the time not all the forumers posting actually OWN the product.
A good source of obtaining a more accurate picture of a product is to visit sites such as amazon, newegg and look through the ratings and reviews given by people whom have actually used the product.
Not to forget, research. Btw That's how I puchased my gtx460.
i believe that both advertisers and forumers have their own way of recommending but i trust forumers more as their words do not contain any kind of advertising and most of them may have use it before to tell others that it is good or it is bad. Some advertisers will often recommend the most expensive ones and some may exaggerate when promoting. And i believe that research is the most important thing as you can get a more reliable information. - RuiYong
I believe it depends on the situation, while some advertisers try to exaggerate or simply sell their products.
Other advertisers have already learnt that this would definitely not help them in the future as customers who bought and felt that it was not worthwhile would instead discourage surrounding people from buying when they are considering and comparing products.
It is then best to listen to unbiased advertisers and fourmers with personal experience to hear both sides of the story
I would say that it is a bit of both. Normally I would go on forums just to have a quick survey/check before I go down to get the stuff I want. For further confirmation, that's where the advertiser comes in; for me to make my decision whether or not I should purchase the thing I want.
Many of you are right in saying that advertisers, by virtue of having to sell the product, tend to be more persuasive, and some may make the product sound better than it really is. Or it could be that simply because the product is theirs, they will be more protective of it and tell you only the good stuff. Forumers tend to be more forthright in their views, but some could still be biased due to their brand loyalty.
Of course there could be the problem of advertiser-forumers!? How do you deal with that?
When you want to buy something, it would be good to check out the official site, as well as read reviews and read the forums to get a better feel of the product.
You have used an example of the graphic card to explain your point and that helps, together with the screenshots. However, the font is often very small and hard to read. Do check spelling too - some typos at times. (Be careful not to use copyrighted images.)
You could provide more in-depth analysis of the issue. What articles did you read on the issue? Do share them with us as well.
I think I would trust forumers more. Because I think advertisers would definitely want to promote their product and may over-sell it. Forumers on the other hand are relatable users and it is sometimes better to get the opinion of someone who is using the product on a similar level.
For advertisers, they will never include negative review on their products. They will want to highlight the unique selling point and persuade the public.
As for forumers, they can give positive and negative review of the products. From their remarks, we can know more information about it.
I will go for forumers' remarks because they are the ones who tried the products. some advertisers may not have tried the products so their review may not be accurate.
I think forumers give things straight to the point like a review of a product, however, it may not always be true as different people has different knowledge of each product.
On the other hand advertisers want you to try out their product instead of telling you its limitations right from the start.
I guess its at times personal preference on whether which side the customer finds more appealing and true
It is a very difficult question to answer, but I will go for forumers because most of them are probably very familiar with a particular product, whereas advertisers can get a little "hyped-up" with their persuasive text.
For me, the best way to find out more about a product and its feedback is to visit reliable review websites, such as Tom's Hardware, Anandtech and HardwareZone.
It's definitely a difficult question to answer as each of them have their pros and cons.
Advertiser may some time sound too exaggerate when advertising their product and Forumer may give irrelevant reviews or comments which make those looking for an answer even more confused.
So it's quite a personal issue whether you believe Advertiser or Forumer. My advice is to take both into consideration and make a choice from there. You never know until you tried it.
Take HungryGoWhere forum for example. When they talk about good food, you never know until you try it and some time it doesn't turn out what you expected. Their 'nice' may not be your 'nice'.
Take a long queue food stall for example. Many people(Advertiser) are queuing up and do you think it's really nice? Like i said, their 'nice' may not be your 'nice', so you have to judge it yourself.
