Advertiser VS Forumer - Who gives better opinions?

The basic concept of an online forum is a website for people from different countries with different backgrounds to meet and join together for discussing of various topics. It can also be a place to share experienced ideas and submit possible solutions to others with specific problems that you may have answers to.

Advertiser is to communicate with the consumers about the relevant feature and design. It informs the consumer about what the product or service does and how it can help the consumer.

If one day you thought of buying a new arrival computer part, for example a Graphic Card, where do you actually go to get more information about it?

Firstly, you would search for the brand and model of the it that you have in mind in Google and check out the specifications and price on the product's website itself.

Secondly, you would compare this particular brand with other brand based on the specifications and with the same price range. Usually, when people wants to buy, it is always based on their budget that they have and their needs. For Gamers, they usually will buy a high end Graphic Card.

Above is the new arrival Leadtek WinFast GTX 560 Ti 1GB GDDR5 Graphic Card in the market now. You can take a look of the specs here:

So, have you made up your mind after looking at the specs from the advertiser website? Are you convinced that this is the card for you, does it worth every dollar you paid or you can get a better one at a cheaper price? Perhaps, i think you are still in doubt.

Many people can't make up their mind when they want to purchase something they are not familiar with and so they seek forums for help and hopefully they can get their questions answered.

Most of the time, forumer will make comparison with a few selected Graphic Card and figure.1 is an example to show the comparison between the 6 Graphic Cards using the 3DMARK Vantage program which is a PC benchmark suite designed to test the DirectX10 performance of your graphics card.

A forum is a good source of information as you can get to know more based on their personal experience that they shared. You gain more knowledge by reading what they post and have a better understanding. It also widen out your choices that you have before you make any purchase.

All in all, you have to judge the opinions by yourself based on the reviews and not get misled by untrustworthy forumer. You must also know that in a forum, lots of momentum and conversation happening, but things tend to vanish into the archives and get lost. Topics can also get off-track quickly.

I personally still visit forum when i want to purchase something which i am unsure of. Advertiser does not give the insight of the product and so i would still conduct research myself.

So what's your say, Advertiser or Forumer?
